Each time I stay at the Palace Hotel, a Luxury Collection Hotel, I find more reasons why I love this San Francisco institution. Whether it’s the central location, top-notch service or classic design, the Palace always delivers!
This time around, I got to experience Afternoon Tea at The Garden Court Restaurant, the Palace’s ornate dining room complete with a stained glass ceiling and Austrian chandeliers. It’s one of the most unique and visually exciting rooms in all of San Francisco!
Afternoon Tea included five separate sandwiches of varying contents. My favorites were the cucumber and pea sandwich as well as the chicken and artichoke wrap. Sandwiches were followed by a fancy set of sweets. From macarons to tiramisu, chocolate strawberries to profiteroles, the sweets were delightful and rounded out a wonderful meal. To tie it all together, I had The Legacy Blend tea while my boyfriend had the Oolong tea.
When you’re all done with tea, consider resting up in The Garden Court as it offers a great location for a bit of people watching or a spot of reading. If you’re staying at the hotel and looking for something more active, consider taking a dip in the indoor pool. With a massive skylight, it’s unlike any other pool you will find in the City!
Overall, the Palace Hotel is quickly becoming my favorite hotel in San Francisco. You can’t go wrong picking this San Francisco institution that’s also a member of Historic Hotels of America. I’d highly suggest checking it out next time your in the City by the Bay!
