Hopland is a tiny town in Mendocino County that’s rich in California history and is surrounded by beautiful rolling hills and vineyards. When in town exploring the Upper Russian River Wine Country, I found Stock Farm to be the perfect place to eat, play and stay. It’s family-owned and is where both the community and travelers gather.
There are seven rooms onsite that are decorated in their own unique style. I personally stayed in the Feliz Suite and a favorite feature was the state-of-the-art bathtub large enough for two people and the separate double-headed shower. The plush California king bed, fireplace, and outdoor patio were nice features as well.
The pool is a nice spot to hang out at and there’s also a grand bar where wines from their sister property, Campovida are poured. It’s the perfect place to whet your appetite before heading over to their restaurant, Stock Farm. This farm-to-table establishment offers a seasonal menu featuring items that are grown at the owner’s nearby farm. There’s a wood-burning oven used to make delectable pizzas and they are a must have item to order.
While at Stock Farm, we sat outside near the fountain and olive trees and indulged in a variety of Italian-inspired items: Wood-fired pizza, caesar salad, meatballs, and pasta.
Overall, Stock Farm is a hidden gem that offers a unique experience. It has a strong sense of community and is the perfect place to eat, play and stay when in Hopland.
