Tucked away in a secluded spot in charming St. Helena, Meadowood Napa Valley is a 250-acre countryside estate complete with a three-Michelin-star restaurant, Forbes Five Star Spa, and endless outdoor activities! There is a championship croquet lawn, tennis courts, a nine-hole golf course, and hiking trails. Instead of cramming all the cottages and lodges together in a central area, the resort has them distributed across the entirety of its acreage so there’s always a sense of privacy. To get from place to place on property, there are drivers with spacious Mercedes that transport guests. The staff is highly attentive and gracious.
I stayed in the incredible Hillside Terrace Suite and upon arrival there was a bottle of Schramsberg Blanc de Blancs and a gourmet cheese platter ready for me to enjoy! The suites luxurious décor, wood-burning fireplace, and spacious bathroom with large two-person deep soaking tub and heated floors is absolutely wonderful! Step through French doors onto a private furnished deck overlooking the wooded hillsides with a glass of Napa Valley Wine in hand. It’s the perfect place to relax and enjoy life!
After dinner I returned to my suite to find luxurious white linens on my California King bed turned down, my pillows fluffed, and my robe and slippers put out.
A must-have place to visit on property is the Meadowood Spa. The entire Meadowood Spa is a series of suites and walkways, creating an indoor/outdoor living space. I experienced the ninety minute Essential Journey massage and it began with a conversation with a spa therapist. My answers helped the therapist customize a treatment specifically to my needs. Prior to my massage, I enjoyed a personalized aromatherapy steam shower that ensured I began my massage completely relaxed and post-treatment, I received a house-made elixir. I then made my way to the relaxation garden featuring a sauna, mineral soaking pool, and steam room. It’s a hard place to leave!
Sunday brunch at The Grill was wonderful. The restaurant offers a more casual dining experience and its seasonal Napa Valley cuisine showcases flavor combinations that are both approachable and interesting, but not overwhelming. Chef Victoria Acosta’s menu changes frequently due to the seasons and what is freshest locally and in the garden. The Huevos Rancheros was mouthwatering and the S’mores Cake and Caramel Apple Mousse for dessert settled my sweet tooth. The view from The Grill is gorgeous and overlooks the lush croquet lawn and golf course.
My experience at Meadowood Napa Valley is one that I will never forget. I highly recommend staying at the property for a special occasion as it is a very special place that will create memories to last a lifetime! Fabulous food, activities, amenities, and a world-class guest experience…Meadowood is everything and more!
After reading your blogpost and viewing your gorgeous photos, I must go to Meadowood for a special occasion! My birthday is coming up, going to start dropping some hints.
